So I herd u wanna critique OCs?
Before you do, for the love of god read this shit.
Don't just jump in there all willy-nilly throwin' corrections and asking questions, k?
Also I will probably edit this if I get more things to add so don't kill me if it ends up in your inbox more than once???

What you should probably do is-
-Stay calm, don't be angry about it.
-ASK them if you can give a critique.
-Don't call someone racist for whitewashing until it is apparent whether they had ACTUAL RACIST INTENT with their whitewashing! Some people don't realise what they're doing is wrong, you might be able to help them realise it. So don't get angry at someone who doesn't know what they're doing wrong.
-Don't curse at them or call their OC shitty ofc who would even do that. Try not to even call it bad. Just say "it needs work" or "you should do more research"
-Keep in mind that when making OCs, people are trying to HAVE FUN. Most of the time they don't think about the research aspect of it, especially really young people. They're just trying to have fun. You shouldn't be angry at people trying to have fun, but tell them what they're doing might hurt someone and they should fix it.
-If they accept your critique and you give them facts and/or corrections, let them question it if they want! You can give further explanation!
-KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE YOU TRY TO CRITIQUE SOMEONE.
-Never ever EVER EVER EVER insult someone or tell them to kill themself because of an inaccurate OC. EVER. This is a recipe for disaster and some people MIGHT ACTUALLY KILL THEMSELVES.

And of course, there are two sides to every argument, so I'll include this too.
If you're on the RECEIVING END of a critique-
-Stay calm, don't be angry about it.
-Take a moment to wonder why you're being asked for critique. If you can't find the answer, say yes. If you CAN find the answer, say yes. Critique is always good.
-Don't get pissed off because someone tried to critique your character. They might have something great and constructive to say. If they don't, well, feel free to be pissed off.
-If they say something you KNOW is wrong, correct them on it. Show proof that they're wrong, too. Critics love proof.
-If more than 1 person critiques you, you might be doing something wrong. If it's more than 4, you are doing something wrong.
-Say thank you, they're trying to help.
-Don't sick your friends on people.
-Research can be fun too!
-Never ever EVER EVER EVER insult someone or tell them to kill themself because of a critique. EVER. This is a recipe for disaster and some people MIGHT ACTUALLY KILL THEMSELVES.

Notes for BOTH SIDES-
-Don't be a hypocrite.
-Realise there is a difference between the problems of "research" and "interpretation" and know the difference between them! You may have done alot of research, but that doesn't mean your OC is well done unless you've also interpreted it in a way that makes sense! Also, if you're critiqueing, know which one is the problem!

I remember someone being a total ass about an OC that wasn't even mine... He kept going on about how offensive it was (IT WAS JUST A FLIPPIN KITTY WITH A RADIOACTIVE SYMBOL) to the Chernobyl disaster...

But that seems a lil' off topic... I would love some people giving Colorado some critiques :'D THE MAKE MEH FEEL HAPPEHZ FOR SOME REASON.
